THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As an engineer building our next-generation experimentation and feature management platform, you will be at the forefront of an initiative impacting how all product and engineering teams at Zalando innovate. You will be instrumental in building and scaling the systems that empower everyone – from Product Managers and Engineers to Analysts, Applied Scientists, and Designers – to move and innovate faster.

Your core responsibilities will involve developing and maintaining the infrastructure that underpins key pillars: safe progressive delivery, easier and faster experimentation (including automated canary testing), and streamlined configuration management. This includes enhancing our measurement-driven progressive delivery processes, building the core engine for orchestrating sophisticated experiments, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our unified platform.

By optimizing the internals of the platform, you will directly contribute to our 2027 strategy, enabling us to run more frequent experiments, adopt safer roll-out methodologies, and ultimately learn faster from data-driven insights. Your work will be crucial in fostering a culture of continuous learning and empowering every team to ship changes with increased confidence and speed, solidifying Zalando's position as the leading fashion platform through innovation.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have a good understanding of Golang and Typescript. Experience with frontend development is a big plus

• Hands-on experience with the full SDK lifecycle, including design, development, versioning, and release management.

• You have a good understanding of microservice architecture, REST services and API design. 

• You are acquainted with deploying and operating applications in a cloud infrastructure.

• Passionate about operational excellence with a keen attention to monitoring and logging.

• You are experienced working in diverse environments and have great English communication skills.
